SAN FRANCISCO: Lesbian and gay couples in California now have the fundamental freedom to marry. California is the first state in the nation to give lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people full equality.
Democratic Presidential Candidate Barack Obama reaffirms his opposition of ballot measures that would take away the freedom to marry, including Proposition 8.
SACRAMENTO – The Assembly Health Committee passed Senate Bill 1729 on June 24 with a 12-5 vote. The bill would help to avoid bias in health care facilities by requiring licensed healthcare professionals to participate in a training program focused on preventing discrimination against LGBT seniors.
