Equality California Thanks AT&T for its Generous Sponsorship

SAN FRANCISCO -- Equality California expresses its gratitude to AT&T for its generous annual sponsorship of $100,000. In the last four years, AT&T has served as a presenting statewide sponsor of all of Equality California's major Equality Awards and has helped fund the organization's efforts to educate the public and advocate for full equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) Californians.

"We are deeply grateful for AT&T's continued commitment to improving the lives of LGBT people in California," said Geoff Kors, executive director of Equality California. "We believe it is imperative for organizations and individuals to do business with companies that support equality. As a result of AT&T's sponsorship, we are proud to announce that Equality California has moved our business to AT&T, and we encourage our community to support those companies that support us."

"We would like to thank AT&T for not only taking a firm stance on LGBT equality but also for supporting Equality California's work over the years to achieve true and full equality for LGBT Californians."

Equality California (EQCA) is the largest statewide lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender-rights advocacy organization in California. Over the past decade, Equality California has strategically moved California from a state with extremely limited legal protections for LGBT individuals to a state with some of the most comprehensive civil rights protections in the nation. Equality California has passed over 60 pieces of legislation and continues to advance equality through legislative advocacy, electoral work, public education and community empowerment. www.eqca.org
