The Equality California (EQCA) and Equality California Institute (EQCAI) Boards of Directors announced today that they have opened the search for a new executive director to lead the statewide lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender equality advocacy and public education organizations.
Joint statement from Clarissa Filgioun, Board President of Equality California and Cary Davidson, Board President of Equality California Institute:
“Over the past decade, the work of Equality California and Equality California Institute, together with our coalition partners and supporters, has transformed the state of California and the lives of thousands of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people. The decade ahead will be transformative, as well, with unprecedented opportunities to not only enhance legal protections for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people, but also to advance full acceptance of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people in California and beyond through public education and community empowerment.
“We look forward to identifying an executive director who is a champion for equality that understands the diversity and complexity of our movement and who will ensure that Equality California and Equality California Institute continue to make real change in the lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people and their families. During this process, we seek input from community stakeholders to help us find an executive director who will effectively lead the organization in the years to come.”
