Each year, many pieces of legislation that positively affect LGBT Californians and allies are introduced in the California Legislature. EQCA supports these bills in an effort to build a better California.

A number of anti-LGBT measures are introduced in the California Legislature each year. EQCA opposes these bills because of the negative impact they will have on the LGBT community and our families.

Legislative Scorecard

Despite one of the worst budget stalemates in California history and Governor Schwarzenegger more bills than any governor in over 40 years, three pieces of legislation sponsored by EQCA were enacted including bills that ensure the protection of LGBT seniors and foster youth, and strengthen current non-discrimination laws.
