2011 Swim for Equality - Malibu
On Saturday, September 24, join us for a 1.7-mile swim along the coast of Malibu to raise critical awareness and funds for LGBT rights in California.
The Swim begins at Westward Beach/Point Dune and ends at the Zuma Lifeguard Headquarters on the Pacific Coast Highway. This is a challenging 1.7 mile swim. Kayaks and motorized support craft will fill the course to watch for people's safety.
Ten-time Olympic medal winner Gary Hall, Jr. and openly gay 1988 Olympian Dan Veatch will be there.
When you sign up to swim or help a swimmer fundraise, you'll be joining a dedicated group of people who want to make a difference in the fight for equality for LGBT Californians. You'll also get access to online fundraising tools and a support network to help you train and hit your fundraising goal.
If you are not an open water swimmer but would still like to get involved, join a Swimmer's fundraising team and become a Swim Advocate.
