HIV/AIDS Programs Still at Risk of Budget Cuts

A coalition of organizations working to save HIV and AIDS funding has successfully negotiated a compromise proposal that was presented to the Legislature as part of the current budget last week. But, the AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) is far from secure. Republican lawmakers, the Governor included, strongly oppose any new revenue for the state--which means that this critical program is still at serious risk.
