SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Equality California, the nation’s largest statewide LGBTQ+ civil rights organization, today announced the endorsements of three pro-equality candidates and three local ballot measures — the organization’s latest round of endorsements in its largest get-out-the-vote effort in history.

“We are thrilled to endorse these three out LGBTQ+ candidates running for State and local offices,” said Executive Director Tony Hoang. “The challenges we continue to face in creating a world that is just and fully equal for all LGBTQ+ people demand that we elect representatives from our community that will work to defend our hard-fought gains, as well as continue to lead the charge in the ongoing fight for full, lived equality. Additionally, we are encouraging voters in Huntington Beach to vote no on Measures A, B and C, which were put on the ballot by the far-right majority on the Huntington Beach City Council that last year passed a high-profile ban on the flying of the Pride Flag and are hoping to codify that ban at the ballot.”

The full list of new endorsements can be found below:

California State Assembly:

  • Assembly District 72: Dom Jones

Local Offices:

  • Fresno County Board of Supervisors, District 5: Jennifer Cruz
  • San Diego City Council, District 3: Stephen Whitburn

Local Issues:

  • Huntington Beach Measures A, B, and C: NO
