ICYMI: We hosted our first @EQCA Twitter Spaces LIVE discussion “Let’s Get Real: An HIV Charla,” recently! Panelists discussed how the #Latine community is disproportionately impacted by HIV/AIDS and what our community is doing to address the issue, raise awareness and educate others.
Panelist included:
Albert Cartagena – AltaMed’s Health Education HIV Prevention Supervisor
Kevin Perez – SOMOS Familia Valle Co-Founder
Luis Ramos – Director of Program for Reach LA
Alex Silva – Health and Equity Director for Central CA 2SLGBTQIA+ Collaborative
Jorge Armando Diaz – Nosotros VIHviendo Program Manager for Equality California
Together we’re increasing awareness about the Latine HIV/AIDS experiences surrounding stigma, healthcare inequities and testing.

Lastly, we invite you to learn more about our Nosotros VIHviendo program. Nosotros VIHviendo is a first of its kind for Equality California with a goal to build community power, strengthen LGBTQ+ and allied networks, and inform communities. Funded by Viiv Healthcare, we annually grant 6 grassroots organizations and/or projects in California curated towards ending stigma associated with living with HIV in the Latine gay, queer, non-binary and trans men community. Learn more about becoming a grantee!
We hope you share this charla with your amigues, loved ones and colleagues. For more information and resources, please email jorge.diaz@eqca.org or visit www.eqca.org/hiv
