LOS ANGELES — Equality California, the nation’s largest statewide LGBTQ+ civil rights organization, has endorsed Audrey Denney and Brynne Kennedy for California Congressional Districts 1 and 4, respectively. Equality California released the following statement from Executive Director Rick Chavez Zbur:

“Equality California is thrilled to endorse Audrey Denney and Brynne Kennedy for Congress. Audrey is a lifelong ally to our LGBTQ+ community and has proven that she has what it takes to challenge an incumbent and fight for North state residents. A business and technology leader, Brynne knows how to innovate, get things done and fight for all of us. We look forward to supporting their campaigns and adding to the pro-equality majority in the U.S. House of Representatives.”

Raised on her family’s farm and ranch in Central California, Audrey Denney knows the meaning of hard work, a good education and fighting for her community. An agriculture and education advocate, Denney has devoted her career to improving the community around her, including in the aftermath of the Camp Fire, when she met with members of Congress to discuss the effects of climate change. In 2018, Denney raised over $1 million and came within 9 points of incumbent Congressman LaMalfa.

Brynne Kennedy is an accomplished businesswoman who was raised in a rural community. Kennedy founded the California-based software company Topia and pioneered new tools, while providing tens of thousands of good paying jobs. A leading advocate for technology in the workplace, Kennedy has also emerged as a voice for middle class families and rural communities.
