LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Equality California, the nation’s largest statewide LGBTQ+ civil rights organization, announced endorsements of four openly LGBTQ+ candidates for local offices on Friday. Equality California announced the following endorsements: 

La Habra City Council, At Large: Peter Cruz
AC Transit Board, Ward 1: Ben Fong
Mayor of the City of Fremont: Justin Sha  
Monrovia Unified School District Board of Education: Sashary Zaroyan

Names shown in bold indicate an openly LGBTQ+ candidate.

Equality California released the following statement from Executive Director Rick Chavez Zbur:

“The ‘Rainbow Wave’ is just 46 days from coming to California once again and we could not be more ready. Peter, Ben, Justin and Sashary represent the newest openly LGBTQ+ candidates to take the Golden State by storm. We are thrilled to endorse each of these openly LGBTQ+ champions and are looking forward to working with them as they seek to transform our schools and communities.”
