LOS ANGELES — Equality California, the nation’s largest statewide LGBTQ+ civil rights organization, endorsed eighteen candidates Friday, including seventeen openly LGBTQ+ candidates for local offices and a pro-equality candidate for State Senate, all committed to fighting for full, lived LGBTQ+ equality.
“We are proud to endorse these candidates for state and local office to advance our goal of building a bench of pro-equality allies and LGBTQ+ elected officials who have a strong record of supporting LGBTQ+ civil rights, social justice, and progressive causes that are important across our community,” said Equality California Executive Director Tony Hoang. “Many of these candidates will be make history as the first openly LGBTQ+ elected official in their respective seats and we are confident that each of these candidates will be champions in the fight for full, lived LGBTQ+ equality.”
