SACRAMENTO — Equality California, the nation’s largest statewide LGBTQ+ civil rights organization, announced endorsements of eight pro-equality candidates Thursday, including two Congressional candidates challenging anti-LGBTQ+ incumbents, an openly gay Assembly candidate, two strong Allies running for Assembly and three candidates running to quadruple the number of openly LGBTQ+ county supervisors in the Bay Area.
“As we see extremist rhetoric infiltrate and disrupt safety and democracy across the nation, we must protect California’s values by electing and expanding pro-equality majority in all levels of government,” said Equality California Executive Director Tony Hoang. “These candidates understand the power of LGBTQ+ and pro-equality voters, and we have a historic opportunity this year to achieve proportionate representation and increase pro-equality support. We are confident they will be an important voice in our work to achieve full, lived equality for all”
