SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Equality California, the nation’s largest statewide LGBTQ+ civil rights organization, today announced the endorsement of thirty-five candidates running for state and local office — the final round of endorsements in Equality California’s largest get-out-the-vote effort in organizational history.
“We are excited to endorse these LGBTQ+ and pro-equality candidates running for state and local office,” said Executive Director Tony Hoang. “With attacks on LGBTQ+ Californians on the rise — including city councils and school boards across the state considering policies like Pride flag bans and the forced outing of LGBTQ+ students — it is imperative we elect representatives who will lead the charge in the ongoing fight for full, lived equality. We are heartened by the success of our endorsed candidates so far this election cycle, and we look forward to supporting a strong slate heading into the general election this November.”
